Excellent service! All types of variety in the food and very quick delivery. Definitely a place to come eat.

It was late and still they treated us with kindness and help and their gumbo great and T-Bone was super big money well spent !!!!

We stopped by for a bite to eat while on the road home. I had the gumbo with some bacon wrapped shrimp. Good stuff. Jen had the fried shrimp plate. Salad was included. She didn't like the cornmeal breading. Nice sized shrimp. Fun atmosphere. They serve Mexican food also. A good place to stop!

Food was great! Server took care of us quickly, and food was fresh and hot. We will be back next time we're in the area.

Great place to grab a bite in Refugio! Menu has a million choices. Enchiladas were very good. Clean, not fancy. The small salad bar was refreshing and very tasty.

We went to GUMBO'S in Refugio this afternoon for lunch. I got the chicken quesadilla plate and he got the beef enchiladas we also had queso and a cup of gumbo. Everything else we had was so incredibly wonderful. The rice and beans were so flavorful; and those enchiladas are definitely memorable for me I loved them. If we go back to Refugio we will give this place a second chance just not gonna do the quesadillas again other than that it was delicious!!! I only got pictures of the entrees.

Seafood was excellent. I recommend the gumbo soup as an appetizer. I'm not sure why some of the reviews said the plates were small If you order the entrees you'll be satisfied.

The Gumbo Seafood serves seafood and Mexican food. The seafood can be served broiled or fried. The fish can be served whole or as a filet. The Mexican food portion of the menu was limited. The seafood portion of the menu was more extensive. I had broiled crawfish tails and they were ok. I enjoyed the seasoned rice and garlic bread. I felt the servers were nice and tried really hard. The cashier was helpful with a question about the town.

The environment is clean and the staff is friendly. The food was good.

Amazing crawfish gumbo!! Super sweet staff!

Easily the best place to stop when you want a full stomach and you don't have a full wallet. I'm saying, they're inexpensive and you get a lot. It's worth more than they charge.

We tried it out because my brother in law recommended it. Such good food!! I had the tacos al pastor. Greasy (expected) but SUPER delicious! We had a Michelada and it wasn't made with premix nor lime concentrate. Left very satisfied. Wear your mask if dining in. (Required to come in) Drive-thru available too.

Well a friend and I ate there today and we ordered the gumbo but we ordered a small gumbo because we wanted to eat an entree and they gave us literally a small little cup that they put the hot sauce in as our gumbo and charged us $4.99 for each cup which was a rip off and the ground beef meat that was in his tacos and my enchiladas was very Bland had no taste at all so that was my experience today at the seafood place(👎👎).

I've eaten here a few times and it has been good each time. Food has always been hot and tasted fresh. Catfish filet was really good and portion size was big....almost too much to finish. Quesadillas are really good too. Prices are reasonable

We have eaten there several times. The food and service is always good. Large portions, you leave hungry.

Great service and food

I walked in & there were no customers, so l was a little concerned. I decided to stay & man I'm glad I did. The food was not only delicious, but it was picture perfect. I mean it looked so good you didn't want to disturb the appearance. But you know that didn't last long. The chef really cares about presentation, that's obvious. My waitress Jennifer was polite & attentive. Just think, initially I was going to whataburger. Don't get me wrong I still like whataburger, but when it's sitting in front of this place. That's just a clear, cut, mistake. It's like a jewel in the desert. Please keep up the great work & FYI, the place began to fill up while I was there, so I'm sure the word is out:):):)

Good spacious friendly atmosphere. Suited well for families, as well as offers seating at the bar. I was pleasantly surprised that they offered local wines. They had a salad bar, seafood (We had the gumbo, fried pickles & fried alligator bites). All were delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we wanted to know more about their local winery.

Great Margarita and fried shrimp- employees were very attentive

This place had absolutely delicious catfish! We were driving through, heading south, and stopped in. The food was fantastic. We would definitely stop here again.

Most definitely recommend, great food home made taste with fast service. Food served hot and as shown on pictures. Clean and friendly. If you in town or just driving by stop by and treat your self to some great home style and authentic food.

Great small seafood joint but this small place has a little bit of everything. Steaks, burgers, fries, crawfish, seafood platters and Mexican food. I love the crawfish for $6.99 per pound, good price and great to eat during season. Food authentic and tastes very different. Shrimp fried is okay, catfish and the other fishes are okay. Fries are greasy but yummy! Ships and salsa is great and fresh. Salad bar was lacking freshness and selection but is included in the meal for free. Bar drinks are good and staff is friendly. Overall, a good place to stop on long travels and grab a good meal for relatively low cost.

I stopped today and had their special. The special said medium shrimp. However when I got my plate those shrimp were paper thin. They looked like small shrimp flattened outvthen breaded. Saladcwas also like old salad. Pretty disappointed cuz in the past it was pretty good.

OMG!! There's not enough adjectives to describe how amazing this place is!! Great little authentic Mexican restaurant! Amazing gumbo, shrimp, fish and nachos. Homemade guacamole and tortillas! 😍🤩

Not impressed at all. How can you call your self Gumbo and your main dish is not your featcherd dish. I have tasted others that are better. There land scaping is also not up to standard. There are not out side signs out that indecate handi cap spaces for disabile. The trash dumpster needs to be updated and doors replaced. Food was well and came out fast.

Staff was friendly, prices were fair, and food was tasty. Can’t ask much more from a small town family restaurant. Also they give you a lot of food so you won’t leave hungry.

Visited there with my grandmother and aunts. The food came out very fast and quickly. Staff was awesome and friendly. Enjoy it every time I have eattin there. Im a sea food lover and its great to have a sea food place in town.

Good food and good service. Only one complaint, the stuffed crab was mostly bread stuffing with a couple of small shrimp and no crab I could find or taste. The shrimp, catfish and scallops were delicious. The fries were crisp, hot and delicious. Its worth the price.

I’ve gone here 2 times now. My kids and I really enjoy the cat fish plate. I make it a point to stop through here on our way back from being out of town. Good Family restaurant.
